What I did really like was getting to know Germany a bit. On the other side Anja was consistent and very likeable the whole book. She even started looking differently in my mind which was an odd thing that doesn’t normally happen to me. I liked this new character, but it didn’t feel like her character grew, it felt like a new character was suddenly in her place. By the second half of the book, Susanne felt like a totally different character than the beginning. The slight issue I had here was instead of feeling like Susanne was thawing, I felt she had a personality transplant. Will Susanne be able to save the family business and Anja’s dream job? While trying to stay professional Susanne can’t help being attracted to Anja.

However, the shop is not doing well and will have to close soon. Susanne’s uncle runs the shop with his star employee Anja. This book takes place in Germany, in a little stationary shop. The second half really improved my enjoyment and is why I can still rate this 4 stars instead of the 3 or 3.5 I thought the book started out as. It really wasn’t until the second half of the book that I started clicking with the story. Usually I fall in love with Jae’s books almost instantly, but that was not the case here. However, I do have to note that I struggled a bit with this. I thought this book was good and I would recommend it. My favorite things outside of creating art are my family, friends and happy hour. Because. When I’m not designing invitations and stationery, you’ll probably find me designing an elaborate halloween costume or over-stepping my bounds with an excessive school project (I can’t seem to help myself). Longing to color outside the lines again, I left the corporate world behind and took a leap of faith to start my own stationery company in 2005.
